Moffat remembers Battle of Britain architect

Yesterday (Sunday 6th), Station Park in Moffat was full of people who gathered to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain and in particular the memory of the late Lord Hugh Dowding who was born in the town. Lord Dowding was the architect behind creating Britain’s air defences in World War Two and died in 1970. We talked to Lord Dowding’s grandson, Piers Dowding the 3rd Baron of Bentley Priory, about the man and his achievements.
