Thieves break into Langholm bank

At about 0140 this morning (Friday 11th November), thieves broke into the Royal Bank of Scotland branch in Langholm and made off with a substantial amount of money. An explosion was heard which Police believe may have been linked to efforts made by the thieves to gain entry into the cash machine. A green Landrover which was found burnt out nearby is also though to be involved.

Chief Inspector Stephen Stiff tells us more.
